What kind of considerations should I take with oils that have low flashpoints?Updated 5 months ago

Some of our oils feature flashpoints that are relatively low in comparison most recommended wax melting points, and some consideration should be made when using these fragrances to ensure greatest success. An example of a fragrance with a low flashpoint is Apple Blossom, which has a flashpoint of 64℃/148℉. For oils that feature flashpoints lower than the recommended temperature to heat your wax, it is recommended to add the fragrance to your melting wax before it has arrived to the peak temperature you're aiming for.

For example, if you are using Freedom Soy Wax, the directions state to heat that wax to 71℃/160℉, add in your fragrance, and then pour. With a fragrance like Apple Blossom and its relatively low flashpoint, you would want to add your fragrance earlier in the melting process, below the flashpoint temperature, to minimize evaporation of the fragrance being added to the hot wax.
